How it works
Chedda is the AI in CheddaStack. Here is what she does, what is kept, and what she can't do.
Chedda's seven jobs, two coming soon
- She watches coupon videos and reads deal blogs, and keeps each deal with where it came from and when.
- She reads what members share: screenshots of a coupon video, receipts and shelf tags. She shows what she read beside the picture, marks anything she could not read as "not sure", and counts it only after you say it is right.
- From that research, she finds the deals on the things you buy, with your usual items first.
- She checks today's price and stock at your Smith's with Kroger's own tools (coming soon). Smith's is part of Kroger.
- She lines up the savings and does the math. Every number comes from the deal itself, and she never makes one up.
- She fills your Smith's cart when you tap (coming soon).
- She tells you exactly which digital coupons to clip in your Smith's app, and which offers to add in Ibotta and Fetch.
You place the order yourself, in your Smith's app. Nothing pays or checks out without you.
Three kinds of data, never mixed
What CheddaStack keeps
Deals from coupon videos, deal blogs and the web, and the deals members share, each with where it came from and the date.
What Chedda shows and never keeps
Your Smith's answer: today's price, sale price, stock and aisle at your store, and the items she adds to your cart. Chedda shows it on your screen and does not keep it. This starts once Chedda can check your Smith's.
What stays your family's
Your usual list, your picks (Add, Skip, Later, Never show me), your checks, what you clipped and what you saved. Only your family sees it, and we never sell it.
What she can't do
She can't clip
Smith's has no way for Chedda to clip a digital coupon. Your list names each coupon and where to find it, and you tap Clip in your Smith's app.
The cart will only add
Coming soon: Kroger will let Chedda add to your Smith's cart, but not look at it or take anything out. You will see your cart in your Smith's app.
She can't read Ibotta
Chedda can't see Ibotta or Fetch. Your list names the offers, and you add them in those apps.
Prices vary by store
The deals come from research, so a price can differ at your Smith's. The price your register rings is the one that counts.
